Age 92
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Clarence Theophilus West, announce the peaceful passing of a dearly loved father, grandfather, brother and friend at Lakeside Homes on July 24th, 2024 at the age of 92.
Clarence leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children Lorne (Janet), Terry (Cindy), Lisa (Bernard), treasured grandchildren Samantha and Andrew (Sydney), sister-in-law Doris, brother- in-law, Clifford(Nina) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Clarence is predeceased by his loving wife, Ivy, his parents, Theophilus and Elaine West of Ladle Cove, and brothers, Wilson, Ronald and Hardy.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Lakeside Homes for all the care and compassion they gave to Clarence during his time with them. We are forever grateful. In addition, the family would also like to thank Dr. Gabriel for his exceptional care and compassion for dad over the years.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 28th from 7-9 pm at Stacey’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at Fraser Road United Church, Gander, on Monday, July 29th at 2 pm followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery. In memory of Clarence, donations may be made to Lakeside Homes or charity of choice.

He never looked for praises
He was never one to boast
He just went on quietly working
For the ones he loved the most.
His dreams were seldom spoken
His wants were very few
And most of the time his worries
Went unspoken too.
He was there.... A firm foundation
Through all our storms of life
A sturdy hand to hold on to
In times of stress and strife.
A true friend we could turn to
When times were good or bad
One of our greatest blessings
The man that we called Dad.
