of Courtenay, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, January 7th, 2006, aged 81. Joe is survived by his sons Mark (Nicole) of Timmins, Ontario and Richard (Julie) of Australia; daughters Karen (Gordon) of Abbotsford and Shelley of Vancouver; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother Stan of Toronto and sister Mary of Kentville, Nova Scotia, as well as many nieces and nephews. Joe served proudly with the Canadian Army in Europe from 1939 to 1946. He was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion. A Service of Remembrance will take place from Branch 17, RCL, Courtenay at a future date. A notice will be placed prior. COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, entrusted with arrangements.
