Patricia was born August 19, 1936, in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, to the late Patrick J. and Helen (Long) Kirby. She moved to Council Bluffs in 1974, and worked at Wal-Mart as a cashier for 10 years retiring in 2008. Patricia was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Kirby. She is survived by 4 daughters, Laureen Stephenson, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Dawn (Paul) Cunningham, of Omaha, Neb., Karen (Kevin Curtis) Smith, of Lincoln, Neb., Jacqueline (Michael) Clark, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; 2 sons, Mark (Debbie) Smith, of San Antonio, Texas, Gary (Michelle) Smith, of Omaha, Neb.; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Casey, of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, Genevieve (Walter) Rollings, St. John's Newfoundland; brothers, Donald Kirby, Patrick J. Kirby, Daniel Kirby, all of Kitchener, Ontario, Joseph (Violet) Kirby, of Spaniards Bay, Newfoundland; sister-in-law, Barbara Kirby, of St. John's, Newfoundland; nieces and nephews. Memorial service, Thursday, 9 a.m. at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Barry Berner will officiate. The body has been cremated; no viewing. The family will direct memorials.
