Passed peacefully away at his residence on Friday, August 19, 2011 Edward Martin Flood, aged 87 years. He is predeceased by parents, Joseph and Martha (Myers) Flood; brother, Francis Flood and wife Isabel; sisters, Elizabeth Flood, Marie Burt and husband William; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in the Arnold family; and 3 great-grandchildren. Edward leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Helen (Nell Arnold) Flood; children, Joan Sharpe (Wilson), Bonnie Dormody (Jim-deceased), Kevin Flood (Ruth), Janice Dakin (Ron), Bob Flood (Teresa), Rod Flood (Marg); grandchildren, Bev Baker (John), Rick Sharpe (Debbie), Ed Dormody (Joanne), Ann-Marie Flood (Allan), Cory Flood (Cheryl), Julie Dakin-Fowler (Wayne), Michael Dakin (Alexandra), Ryan Flood (Tessa), Krista Flood, and Chad Flood; brothers, Junior Flood (Rose), and Raymond Flood (Joan-deceased); also leaving to mourn several great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Gertrude Hedges, Kathleen Arnold, and Georgina Flood; and several nieces and nephews. The visitation took place Sat., Aug. 20, 2011 at 7:30-9:00 pm and Sunday, August 21, 2011 2-4 and 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. The funeral service took place Monday, August 22, 2011 at 11:00 am from The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL with Father William Hearn officiating. Interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Union Street, Grand Falls-Windsor. Donations in his memory may be made to The Heart and Stoke Foundation or The Lung Association.
