- Passed peacefully away on July 31, 2003 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Mrs. Gertrude Elizabeth Sparkes of Musgrave Harbor in her 65th year.
Predeceased by her daughter, Mary; grandson, Charles Brown; parents, Frank and Laura Abbott; brother, Claude Abbott.
Left with fond and loving memories are her daughter, Effie Brown (Clifford) of Winnipeg, Manitoba; son, Samuel Sparkes of Musgrave Harbor; granddaughter, Samantha Brown of Winnipeg, Manitoba; two brothers, Thomas Abbott of Labrador City and Frank Abbott (Cheryl) of Ladle Cove; three sisters, Joan Abbott of Ottawa; Alice Strangemore (Byron) of St. Anthony and Rose Tulk (Austin) of Ladle Cove; 41 nieces and nephews; special niece, Carolyn Hillier.
Funeral service was held on August 3rd from the Salvation Army Citadel in Musgrave Harbor. Interment Salvation Army Cemetery in Musgrave Harbor. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home in Musgrave Harbor-Pound Cove.
