- Obituary of Marie Loretta ParkMarie Loretta Park (nee Brake) Gillams, NL Sept. 17, 1939 – Aug. 27, 2020 It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Marie Park on Thursday, August 27th, 2020 at Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Kerry, Guy, Dianne (Brian Forrest), Anita (Darren Park) and Lyndon (Sherri); grandchildren: Shoorah, Joshua (Nicole), Christopher (Lilly), Sarah, Shelby and Thomas; brothers: Charles, Calvin (Joan), Utley (Maggie), Vernon (Myrtle) and Baxter (Loretta); sisters: Elizabeth (Bess) White, Susanne (Ken) Neibauer, Dawn (Art) Hickey and Lulabelle (Joe) Noseworthy; brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard (Ethel) Park, Laverne Blanchard, Irene (Spencer) House, Beverley Park, Howard Swyers, Bertram Burridge and Regina Park; special friends Merlyn Blanchard, Kimberly Fiander, Reverend Edward House, Shirley Fiander and Rhona Parsons; as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by husband Luke Park, June 13, 2014, parents Clayton and Annie Brake; mother and father-in-law Ralph and Diana Park; sisters Melba Lewis and Whyona White; brothers and sisters-in-law: Linda Burridge, Austin White, William (Bill) White, Edmund Blanchard, Wallace Park, Dinah Brake, Madeline Swyers and David Touchings. The family would like to acknowledge the Doctors, Nurses and staff on 4A-B and 3B at Western Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion shown to our mother, Thank You. There will be a private family visitation on Sunday from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, followed by a private funeral service on Monday, August 31st from St. James Anglican Church, Gillams, with Reverend Kay Osmond officiating. The interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Meadows. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church fund, Gillams.
