  Notes	In the Name of God Amen the twentieth of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred eighty five this my last will and Testament of me Stephen Sparks of Bull Cove in the Island of Newfoundland. First I give and bequest to my son Solomon Sparks the western part of my Fishing room Bound on the West by Moses Sparks on the east by James Sparks and Stephen Sparks Bound on the North by a point all the land on the north side of the Brook I also give to my son Solomon the piece of land bound by the road and by John Youden also one third part of a piece of land back of the hill also a portion of the west land on the west Side also one sheep Second I give and bequest to my son Robert Sparks the west part of the fruit garden leading up from the stage I also give and bequest to my son Robert all the remaining part of my land with the exception of forty feet which i give to my grand child Emma Sparks south west east of the house I all so give to my son Robert the dwelling house I now live in also all out houses also three Sheep also my bed and bedding Third I give and bequest to my grand child Stephen Sparks one Bed and pillow Forth I give and bequest to my grand daughter Emma Sparks forty feet of land south West of her Mothers Dwelling house and one hundred feet to the eastward. Fifthly and Lastly I do appoint Caleb Clarke of Brigus Planter and Joseph Ledrew of Cupids fisherman to be my Executors to this my last Will and Testament. in Witness here of I now set my hand and seal this twelfth day of May one thousand eight hundred Eighty five. {Signed} Stephen Sparks Witness Caleb Clarke Joseph Ledrew Newfoundland Northern District Prays to Wit Caleb Clarke, Planter, of Brigus Conception Bay Newfoundland maketh oath and saith that he this deponent was present and did see Stephen Sparks of Brigus aforesaid duly subscribe his name to the annexed paper writing as for his Last Will and Testament in the presence of this deponent and Joseph Ledrew the other subscribing Witness, having been first read over to the said Stephen Sparks, and was approved of by him, in our presence, and that at the time of executing the said Will the said Testator was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of this deponents judgement knowledge and belief.
