Mrs. Joy Weste of Coaldale, beloved wife of Mr. Gilbert Weste, passed away peacefully at the Edith Cavell Care Centre in Lethbridge on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the age of 70 years. Born on January 7, 1948 in Twillingate, Newfoundland, Joy enjoyed school, reading, cooking, and sewing with her family. In 1962 she met the love of her life, Gilbert, getting married in 1966 in Agincourt, Ontario, at Knock United Church. Over the next 8 years, her family grew to include daughter Lisa, son Rick, and daughter Lori. In 1982 she moved with her family to Grande Cache, where she continued her love of cooking, working at a few restaurants until she bought and ran her own restaurant, Dina’s, when they moved to Sparwood, BC in 1985. They enjoyed life in the Elk Valley, welcoming grandchildren and great grandchildren until they retired to Coaldale in 2006. Besides her loving husband Gilbert, Joy is survived by her two daughters Lisa Ellison (Bob) and Lori Weste (Rod), and one son Rick Weste (Michelle). Also left to mourn are her grandchildren Ethan Weste, Emily Weste, Anthony Petovello, Matthew Petovello, Alyssa Petovello, Niki Ellison, Bobbi-Jo Ellison, Samantha Ellison, and Alex Nippard. She is also survived by one sister, Bernice Weste (Terry). A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the JAPANESE UNITED CHURCH, 821 – 9 Ave. N., Lethbridge, AB, with Reverend Eva Stanley, officiating. Cremation entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Services. SYDNEY MINES Kathleen Marie (Dove) Power, 51, a resident of 14 Harpers Lane, Sydney Mines, died peacefully at the Northside General Hospital, Sept. 29, 2005. Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the Richard (Dickie) and Catherine 'Kay' (MacPherson) Dove. She was a member of St. Pius X parish, Sydney Mines. She was a graduate of Dalhousie University and was employed with the Cape Breton Regional Health Services, Harbour View site. Kathy will be missed by many friends and co-workers at Harbour View, Northside General and Cape Breton Regional hospitals. She is survived by her daughter, Krysti Leigh-Anne; and her son, John Craig, both at home; and by grandson, Caden Joshua; sisters, Laurena (Melvin) MacIntyre, Brenda (Patty) MacLeod, Romaine (Blair) MacDonald, all of Sydney Mines; and brothers, Alex (Bonnie), Trenton, and Ricky (Lorraine), Sydney Mines. Also left to mourn are her special friends, Greg MacIsaac, Nancy Rout, Diane White, Anne Marie Jardine; and Aunt Marg Andrews. She was predeceased by her infant sister, Mary, maternal grandparents, Roy and Veronica MacPherson, paternal grandparents, There will be no visitation by request. Funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Pius X Church, Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Dearest Kathy: We travelled life's highway together, in good times and bad. 308 Kevin wasn't fully independent, he needed to be watched all the time, (unsure of his ailment or issue) he needed someone to take care of him. He had a close friend, Iris Pynn, who looked after him after his mother passed and erected the headstone on his gravesite.

Leaving to celebrate his life with fond and loving memories are his wife Marie (nee Dinn); sons Greg (Elaine) and Bill (Kim); daughter Lisa (Byron Carville); grandchildren Matthew, Alexander, Rebecca, Hannah, and Laura; and Corey Kendall, a special person in the Kirby family. Predeceased by his brother Bernard and leaving to celebrate his life are sister-in-law Betty Kirby and their sons Sheldon (Maureen), Kenny (Rose), and Wendall (Pattie), and their children. Predeceased by brother-in-law Russell (Louise) and sister-in-law Doris (Kevin Connolly) and leaving behind many relatives in the Dinn family: Theresa (Derm Connolly), Bernadette (Will Williams), Gertrude (Dave Moulaison), Mildred (Harry Bulger), John (Patricia), Ray (Anne), Billy (Kay), Tony (Peggy), and David (Wanda); and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her parents, Silas and Myria Gillingham; husband, Gerald; siblings, Garfield, Herbert, Lemuel, Sophie Tippett, Lucy Coles, Rosanna Angell and Baxter. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth DeBoard (nee Burden), devoted father of Brian, Rhonda and Kristina DeBoard and dear brother of Howard DeBoard (Florence). Lester was a career U.S. Navy veteran for 27 years, honorably serving in the Vietnam War. 341 Margaret Evans, 86, formerly of Meadville died Monday, December 16, 2019, surrounded by her family at UPMC Jameson Care Center, New Castle.

She was born February 5, 1933, in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, the daughter of Patrick J. and Rosalie Russell Lewis.

She married Christopher G. Evans on February 19, 1955, and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2005.

She was a member of St. Phillips Church in Crafton and a former member of St. Brigid Church.

She was a former member of Meadville City Hospital Auxiliary and was active in the school PTO's when her children were of school age.

She enjoyed knitting, but especially time spent with her family.

She is survived by five daughters, Karen Sobocinski (Richard) of Crafton, Margaret Litwiler (Hugo) of Linesville, Susan Learn (Blair) of Meadville, Patricia Nesbit (Jeffrey) of New Castle, and Carol Whitney (Brian) of Charleston, SC; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and a niece.

In addition to her husband and parents; she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Moore.

Calling hours will be Thursday, December 19th from 4-7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, INC., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with a Scripture Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 20th at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville with Fr. Andrew Boyd, Celebrant.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
