    It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Silas Ellsworth announce his passing on Saturday, February 17, 2001 at his family residence in his 82nd year. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Evelyn, May 25, 2000. He leaves to mourn six daughters: Lorraine (Scott) Wight and Pauline (Ken) both of Rocky Harbour, Marie (Sidney) Bennett, St. Paul's, Myra (Maris) Freimanis, Bathurst, NB, Justine (Joe) Webber, Corner Brook and step-daughter Carrie (Edward) Payne, Stephenville. Five sons: Woodrow (Jessie), Corner Brook, John Michael (Audrey), Rocky Harbour, Clarence (Vicky), George (Elizabeth) and Curling (Anne) all of Ontario. Twenty-five grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. Two brothers: Eli (late Effie), and Rendell (Eulah). Five sisters: Edith (late Arthur) Watts, Rose (Albert) Ellsworth, Melvina (Rendell) Wight, Agnes Kidman-Lavens and Beulah (Gerald) Fitzgerald. Brothers-in-law: George (Mona) Major, and John (Violet) Major. Sisters-in-law: Harriet Nicolle, Jane Sparkes, Pearl Butt, Isabella (James) Wilson and Thelma Major. He also leaves to mourn a large circle of nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his three children, Mariam, Wilson and Donald. His parents Samuel and Clara, sisters Winnifred, Blanche and Marigold, brother Leonard and step-brother Obediah. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, Rocky Harbour all day today, Monday. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 20 at 2 p.m. from the Anglican Church, Rocky Harbour with Rev. Beverly Kean-Newhook officiating. Interment to follow at the Church cemetery. As expression of sympathy donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.

    It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edith Watts announce her passing on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 83 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Beulah (Gerald), Fitzpatrick, Deer Lake, Audrey Watts, Pasadena, Vernetta (Bernie) Major, Toronto, Calvin (Joan) Watts, Toronto, Alpha (Dave) Clouston, Gander, Robert (Marion) Watts, Toronto, Yvonne (Mike) Souter, Toronto, Owen (Ruby) Watts, Pasadena and Treena Watts, Toronto; 12 grandchildren: Dale, Shawn, Mark, Michael, Jennifer, Andrea, Vikki, Karen, Gary, Cassie, Jack and Michelle, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters: Melvina Wight, Rose Ellsworth and Agnes Leavens. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Watts, 1997. Friends may visit Humber Valley United Church, Pasadena on Wednesday and Thursday from the hours of 7-9 PM from where the funeral service will take place on Friday, October 5th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Andrew Wright officiating. Interment to follow at Humber Valley United Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangement entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook.     Visitation will take place from St. Matthew's Anglican Church today Saturday, where also funeral services will take place on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Newhook officiating. Interment to follow at the family plot.



    By request of the family, flowers or donations may be made to St. Matthew's Anglican Church Cemetery Fund would be gratefully accepted.
